A bit confused...

I’m not planning on trying to future proof this system, I’m short on money atm already going over my original budget. I’ll probably upgrade almost everything inside it when I have a job next year.

But that's the point, the build you've configured will be more expensive and worse performing than an ADM equivalent, and less future proof.

You won't be able to upgrade most parts without replacing most of the PC entirely as there's no support for upgrades on the build you've configured, whereas an AMD equivalent would allow for upgrades.

That example above is about £90 more expensive including me having to upgrade the WiFi card. Yeah it may be worth it in the short term but I’ll be wasting money if I plan to upgrade components next year.

When you said £800, I just aimed for that. There are savings to be made that will make a difference to the cost. Give me a minute....

As stated by Spydertracks, the main benefit for you is that you won't need to change all the internals for a major upgrade. You dump the GPU & PSU and replace with a 2080Ti and a 750 RMx and you have a 4k gaming machine. To do that with your current selections you would need to replace motherboard, CPU, PSU, Case, possibly the RAM (by that time DDR5 may be the mainstream).

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't think it wasn't absolutely the right thing to do.

Here is a build that has Wifi (lowest standard, possibly what you had selected anyway). The only detriment from the original recommendation is I've gone with the GPU and RAM speed you had selected initially....

I genuinely think it's worth spending a little extra on those areas but if budget is a concern then the 2600X is a no brainer.

Sounds to me like it would be much better to buy a £200 laptop from amazon and save up money for something decent.
As the guys have mentioned AMD is a better choice for a budget build like this.

Thanks for all the advice but just had a email from PCS saying it’ll be in building today. I know it may sound stupid going ahead with my current order but as I said this pc doesn’t have to do me years and years. Just left school and am not into a job yet. Also not into much fps demanding games. Plan would probably be to keep it until later next year and treat myself to something better. I’ll definitely be coming back to this forum when it’s time to choose my next specification.
