Phoronix really are a very impressive site aren't they, they really cover stuff in a lot of depth, valuable resource.
Good price for a new Xeon. Maybe Intel are finally learning now AMD are beating them up.
That said, my current server, which I bought just over 2 years ago was two generations old when I bought it and came with dual hex core 2.4(I think from memory) GHz Xeons and 96GB of RAM (since upgraded with another 64GB) and is running 9 VMs constantly but sometimes goes over 20 and the CPUs tick along rarely going into double digit % use!
