Adding 2nd SSD to this Laptop

Hi there.

My company just bought the machine below for me (Data Tech Holdings Ltd).

I have a 1Tb Western Digital SSD which was retro-fitted to my previous PC Specialist Laptop (item number WDS100T2B0B WD BLUE 3D NAND SATA SSD). This is a M2 2280 SATAIII drive. (data sheet attached)

Will this SSD work in the 2nd slot of this new Elimina series laptop (spec says the second slot is M.2 PCIe Port)?

If yes, what do I have to do to make it work. Does it need activating in the BIOS/UEFI?

If no, what spec of SSD should I buy to fill this 2nd slot - I'm looking for 1Tb of additional storage.

I don't think a SATA drive will work in that laptop. You need an NVMe drive instead. If you're buying from PCS, either the PCS own brand one or the Intel 670p would be fine. Otherwise, there are loads of options out there. Reputable brands would include Samsung, Western Digital, ADATA, Seagate and more.

Thanks for the advice. I thought this may be the case, but hoped that being M2 form factor, it would work in the 2nd slot as storage. Looks like I'll be buying a new NVME drive then, and putting this SATA SSD into a caddy as an occasional external hard drive. Cheers.
