Advice for complete noob buying a new PC (£900-£1200)

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a new gaming PC, but unfortunately I haven't a clue what I'm doing, so If anyone can give me some tips that would be much appreciated. Currently i'm working with a budget of around £900-£1200 and my main usage for the PC would be gaming and some minor app development. To make this easier I thought i'd just list the functions i'm interested with a new PC, ideally i'm looking for build suggestions but also advice on how achievable these goals are with my current budget.

- Plays most modern games on reasonable graphics settings with solid fps.
- Capable of being developed on for minor application development.
- Runs 2 reasonably sized monitors, being being able to play a game and stream something at the same time is the dream.
- Decent cooling system that isn't too loud (previously had a PC with a very very loud fan)

Monitors not yet purchased since i'm not yet sure what the new machine would be able to handle. I would also probably include them in my budget.

As an example, but I'd wait for Oussebon to give his opinion, he's much better at budget builds than I am. Any modern day graphics card will easily run a dual monitor setup, don't expect to be able to game on 2, but if you're just gaming on one with the other as a display then this would be fine. Slightly over budget, but I wouldn't want to compromise any more than this.

Thank you so much for helping me. Second monitor would mainly be for browsing/netflix etc. Also the budget on this would be okay for me.

Do you know what sort of gaming performance I would see on a build like this?

I'd be tempted to aim for the i7 and switch to 8gb RAM.
