That's a healthy budget! Have you got a preference over 15" or 17"?

For that budget, I would highly recommend the 17" Recoil IV, however keep in mind that the battery life is quite bad and it is a heavy and thick machine. But it is the best performance you can get for gaming out of a laptop, still being kind of portable (you can carry it around, anyway), just don't expect it to run for long on battery power (1 hour max, I would say?).

Whilst that is a good laptop - as its a desktop replacement laptop - its not very portable at nearly 4kg - and you would have to lug around 2 power bricks with you as well. The OP already has a good home gaming system - they want portability now.

My suggestion would be something like the Defiance or Vyper (if you dont mind the camera being in an odd position). Both come in at around the 2kg mark.

At that budget you could max spec either of those two laptops with 2 x 2 TB Samsung M2's, gold warranty, 1 year pixel warranty, spare chargers and still have change so have a look at the specs (no Ryzens though - just Intel in those two).

It depends on his usage. If he just wants to carry it to places (but not really play while on the go) and he's travelling by car or something like that, could be an option. If by plane, the power bricks could go in the checked-in baggage and only the laptop would be on a backpack. So you get to your hotel by night and play your games ;)
