Update on my progress so far: Since june the 6th I have had no emails, but I have been in phone contact with PCS which has been some what confusing at best and at worst a waste of time. I have told them on the phone repeatedly to send me an update email as every time I phone them the story change's. First it was waiting for the case, then it was "we have everything and it's going into build and I should get it soon", then my NMVE spec's had changed by them self, and now it's back to waiting for the laptop case Again!. This has to be the most stressful purchase I have ever made (including me buy my house and taking out a 30 year mortgage) I just hope that I am the exception and no one else is suffering in the way I am with this poor communication..

To be fair, I ordered on June 16th and then heard nothing for over four weeks barring an auto generated (and obviously pre-covid) email informing me my pc was likely to be dispatched after 16 working days. My build also contained out of stock parts, I knew about this when I ordered, and as such I did not expect to receive my PC inside any time frame.

Global shipping is in a really precarious place right now, and many firms are in a worse staffing situation now than during lockdown due to ping-mageddon. I feel it is highly unlikely that PC Specialist would be able to give a coherent or accurate timeframe on supply of parts for your build.

But I do feel for you, especially as you need your machine for work.

One thing that I have wondered about is the days referred to on the order page. The website and order information is clear that the production time is in working days, which are Monday to Friday (inclusive). It might help for that to be labelled something like 'Elapsed time since order', as I have seen a few people confuse that with how much time is left until they receive their system and they are unsure why it is increasing by 1 every day!

The second area of confusion is the stats on the % of orders dispatched within... numbers. I'm pretty sure that I have seen the percentages drop between Friday evening and Monday morning, implying that those numbers are based on all days (not just working days). This would tie up with the fact that the percentages are reported for multiples of 7 days, rather than multiples of 5. However, I find it slightly odd that they would have working days as a measure for one and all days as a measure for the other. This also leaves the question about the average number of days - is that working days or all days? Given that it is in the same table as the stats, I would assume that it is the same as those, but you know what they say about assuming things...

Ok my grammer may be wrong! but " watch my language" ??? The word's I used would be totaly acceptable for a Twelve year old to use in a mock english exam.

But anyway I will hear more on the 10th Aug as thats when they said they will have the motherboard in stock. they said that they had to change the mother to a GM7ZG8M which I can only find limited info on and can't really tell if it the same/better or worst then the orignal one which I first spec'd out.

For the record, it’s ‘grammar’.

This is Grammer:

And if I’d have used that word in my exams my teachers would’ve gone ballistic. Regardless of how you feel about the moderation of your language, you must abide by the rules. This forum permits members as young as 13 and we want to keep it as clean as possible.

Did you seriously just delete my comment?
No, I did, your comment was completely unnecessary, and would definitely not help anything and so was quite trollsome in itself which is in essence what you were complaining about.
Please let the moderators deal with things how we feel best, it is not upto you how we deal with things.

The further comments after your original deleted post were removed because they were not relevant to the thread, so please stop this right now

I agree In a way. There should be some page showing the possible wait times or working day total of people going into build who are waiting for a 3070.

I get it isn't just a click of the fingers job, but it must be possible as they update the normal lead times page. Unless that's just a figure from thin air.

I think its bizarre how 3 people waiting for the same part on another thread all contacted customer services and all got told something different.

I do think there needs to be a better way going forward to help manage this.

Don't forget that the order in which orders are processed is dependent on when they are ordered, whatever components they have got in them, so trying to split out those that have 3070's in them, I've just ordered a pc from them that doesn't have a GPU or an OS, I don't expect it allow me to jump in front of folk who have ordered before me, when i ordered i was quoted 16-19 working days, the average build time was about 46

It's a very fluid build queue. People can (and do!) change their minds right up to the moment it goes into build. It's possible that the three people were all given information that was accurate at the time. It's also possible that the customer care agents simply didn't know and gave their customer their best estimate in order to be as helpful as possible.

I am quite certain that if the details that you seek were reliably and consistently available then PCS would publish them.

This is more then likely what happened to me in my June 6th contact with them. as one of the agents told me on the July 20th that Call Staff are working remotely at home now, were as before they could pop down to the factory floor and ask. But what got me was the fact that they had changed the motherboard with out telling me or giving me any information of the spec's of the new replacement. How do I know if the GM7ZG8M will work with what I have ordered? is it better or worse?. Also if I had not called them on the 20th July at which point in time would they have told me of the change, as it was going into build giving me limited time to pick other part's, that's IF they had them in stock?.

I think on my next build/order I will do as @Martinr36 posted and just order the base unite and buy the GPU's separately as I can't see this shortage endding any time soon.

I've got a decent GPU in my existing build (2070 Super) which is an intel build, and I've decided it's time to up the game and practice as i preach and go AMD, so it was the logical way to do things, I've also specced the new build so it will have an extremely good upgrade path

Can you post the spec of the new one you have ordered? It would be good to see what you have gone with?

Not sure if i should cry or laugth. Phoned PCS customer service and asked if they could tell me more info on the GM7ZG8M which they had changed my originale order to in july. And I was told that nothing had changed from my originale order which was made in March, So I said fantastic that's great news but what happened in July with my order so that it was delayed. The reply back from PCS agent " yea Tongfang had stopped making that chassis so we changed it". is this a Trigger's Broom moment.
I still never found out the specs for the GM7ZG8M.
