So after a 3 day youtube marathon of watching vidoes about components and how they work together i’ve decided to go ahead and build a PC.
Yes i am one of those who already put in an order, however im 2 days in after purchase (havent recieved goods yet) so i figured id ask for an advice and suggestions after reading the forums.

Build i aimed for is for 1080p gaming, streaming and some light video editing.

The monitor i am planing to use for at least a month before i upgrade due to budget is an old Logik tv with HDMI outputs. Thinking of upgrading to this:
Asus VG258Q, 25 inch FHD (1920x1080)

Little concerned about the ram im unsure if 3200 will be enough.

budget: £900 (w/o monitor)

Above suggestions are spot on IMO. I would definitely consider the B550 motherboard as well though. I know this takes you significantly over-budget but it means that when the next generation CPUs come out you could slot one in without having to change out the motherboard (or go down the BIOS hack that's going to be required). The B550 board is as good as you can get for a starting system.

Thank you both for the answers i will reconsider, maybe i can cut some off the budget on other things like the case and get the better motherboard , however i don't really see any other good options for decent airflow :[

The case is as good as any for airflow. The only saving you could make, and still remain sensible, would be the Focus G.

If you could live without the 1TB storage drive, and add it at a later date, then there's money to save there without impacting any performance aspects.

Just in case it helps...... if you currently have a system that you are not going to be re-purposing you could transfer the windows license, that would get you bang on budget.

Actually thats probably the way to go about it. No OS and no HDD, i don't know if i'm going to be good with only 512 gigs though. Will def consider and maybe call them since i already did purchase. Do you know if i can call them and readjus?

Thinking of going ahead with this either OR with the 3200 x8 16 ram and 1tb HDD(with the 512GB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD) 🤔 = £910
I just need to top that up to £900 or pay extra 10 since im buying on finance and it's already paid:oops:

You're fine with either option. The 3200 vs 3600 won't really make much odds. What I would say is that the HDD is cheap and easy to add in the future, the RAM, as much as it's straight forward to switch out.... would leave you stuck with RAM to sell on.

Personally I would go with the 3600 and get the HDD next month and plug it in. Either route is absolutely fine though so go with whatever you fancy, you won't be disappointed either way :)

Alright, had not researched monitors well enough so had to take my time and am currently looking at the AOC 24G2U as a final choice. Any advice or suggestion?

I was also thinking that i really need bluetooth, so what are my options besides a remote dongle as i need to pair a gaming controller

Thanks in advance
Regards

Hello again guys,

Thank you for all the help, i’ve decided to add the wifi card as there isn’t a mobo available with bluetooth or wifi. I expanded my budget a little bit, because i really want to utilise the monitor i bought which is the AOC 24G2U. Posting the amended specs to seek for advice yet again. Gravitating towards the 2060S so i can get the guaranteed 144hz in 1080p on the game i primarily am looking forward to playing: CoD:MW Warzone. The reason i changed the mobo as well is because i saw a lot of bad reviews about it all over youtube.

Could you post the bad reviews? Interested to see these as on paper I can't see why it would get a bad review to be honest.

The 2060 Super is massive overkill. If you want to over-shoot it then the 2060 would be fine and save a few quid. Personally, in your shoes, I would opt for the 1660 Super right now and put the savings towards the next generation 1080p card (2660 maybe?). This will knock spots off the 2060 Super and be similar price to the 1660 Super. Also, you'll be able to sell on the 1660. You will save a lot of money going down this route. You won't notice much odds with the FPS in your eyes :)

Reviews are more about if the price of the b550 and x570 are similar that it doesn’t make sense to get the b550 as it is smaller, doesnt support more than 3200 mghz of ram (might be wrong here) and PCS doesn’t offer the wifi version... I understand the 2660 would be a over kill but i want to get most fps as possible

Everything I've seen is hugely positive. Not sure what you mean regarding the RAM speed or the size. Seems a bit made up to be honest, hence why I wanted to see the review.

GPU is up to yourself of course. Your monitor can't output more than 144hz anyway so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Those are the reviews, plus some google search.
And for the GPU the 1660 super will give me verry good fps however it wont bump it up to 144 frames ... that is my main concern. :(

I'll have a watch now, thanks for the links.

You are extremely unlikely to notice anything over 100fps on a screen anyway so I wouldn't be too concerned. In a lot of games, the 1660 Super will be 120+ without sweating. As long as you opt for sensible settings of course. The choice is yours, you have good merit for the 2060 if you want to hammer 144hz, no doubt...... my point is you could save and knock it out the park next week.

Ok.... I lasted almost 2 minutes in the first video. I genuinely cannot comment on this, I laughed. This guy has so much of a bee in his bonnet with AMD it's scary. It's the same guy that put up the "why choose intel" video, which is also just as laughable. I can't even express on here how one sided Jayz2Cents is right now. I didn't realise it until this very video so I'm glad you posted it. Please do not take this guys word for anything going forward. He has his mortgage on those videos and the direction he influences.

@ubuysa, you need to check this first video out. You were absolutely spot on with his motives as far as I'm concerned.

Not sure on the second video to be honest. I can't advocate the B450, it's not a good choice. B550 to save a few quid and be safe, X570 to go for top end and cover all high end CPUs. I'll always be honest. If I was building, it would be an X570 Strix for me. Absolutely nothing else would be compromised for that choice though as it's not even remotely a necessity for anything below the 3900X.
