Frankly, I was rather underwhelmed by AMD's launch of a single V cache CPU, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Meanwhile, Intel released the non K 12th gen models which, while not offering any real performance advantage, did offer a lower price and could be paired with lower end coolers and motherboard, making the whole package even cheaper.

Well, finally, it seems AMD might be getting the message (or perhaps just the capacity from TSMC) with a slew of new CPUs and some price cuts. Most interesting to me is the 5700X. An 8 core, 16 thread CPU but with a lower clock and 65W TDP for $299. It should be able to be paired with a lower end cooler and motherboard. AMD should have had this out a year ago but better late than never. Also the 5600X down from $299 to $225 and the 5600 with 200MHz knocked off the frequency at $199. All should make it easier to recommend AMD systems again.
