Android update - apps closing - short term fix

Many people had an update yesterday. Now some apps close immediately.
The bug is in the WebView component. google are working on a fix.

Uninstalling Android System WebView reportedly fixes things.

Go settings > apps > tap the three dots in the top right corner > show system apps > search for Android System WebView > select Uninstall updates.

yep, got caught by this, this morning, you can also remove it via the play store, it was causing Accuweather and the Amazon app to crash for me
