Any changes recommended? 7800x3d 4080 super

This is what i'm currently thinking of going for unless any changes are suggested as I want to make sure I get this right as it will be my pc for the next 5 plus years. Are the extra fans worth it and is 1 led strip enough or does a 2nd make it look much better (if you like rgb). I know cpu cooler is a bit overkill but I wanted one with an lcd and i'm happy paying the premium for it. Budget is £2,400. Thanks for any advice.

We love you Ukraine
I would hold off until the 8th August as the new 9700x and 9800x are releasing which will affect pricing on current cpus.

Even the x3d cpu's? Is it expected to be a significant discount? I may not be buying till then anyway just want to have an idea on what it might do to the price if thats out there already based on other places. I will get this cpu either way. I just want to get the build right for whenever I do go through with purchasing. I wasn't sure too if it was worth waiting for the gpu free game to change. Thanks for informing me of that btw

Apart from waiting for the new CPUs (non-X3D ones due first, but there's rumours that the newer non-X3D 9700 might be as fast as the 7800X3D...but we won't truly know until the samples are with reviewers - however I can still see the appeal for the 7800X3D as it might just be a bit cheaper and therefore become a bargain), I’d upgrade from the Prime to the TUF motherboard as the TUF has better components...swap will mean you can ditch the extra wifi card as the TUF motherboard has it built in.

I’d also recommend getting a P44 Pro SSD as your boot/apps/launcher drive as it will make everything that little bit faster. It can be a 512GB version if you want to save some cash as you don’t want it of a size that tempts you to store stuff on it…as you want it ‘mean & clean’ for best performance.

Just so you’re aware, you’ve got a bit of a ‘mix n match’ lighting setup, with PCS case fans (assuming that’s what’s in there), unknown RGB light strip, Corsair cooler RGB fans…which might need different software to control each (motherboard & iCUE probably).

Thanks for that. Given its like a week I'll definitely wait to see with those. I'll upgrade the motherboard and storage. I've been thinking about changing to frost flow cooler as icue is supposedly a bad software for controlling everything. Is that genuinely the case? As I could get a mini screen for the pc without the cooler too. Are the frost flow coolers very reliable? This would be what I would go for in this case. Just added a 2tb hdd for over flow like old games and such so I'm not packing the ssd to the max.

Forgot to take off the WiFi card so it's just that without that to be £23 or so less. Think it's updated now I've taken it off

I'd not recommend a PCS Frostflow over a Corsair AIO, and there is no PCS software to control the Frostflow anyway, it would all have to be done by the motherboard software (assuming it's even configurable).

I run everything through iCUE on my machine, but it's 90% Corsair stuff - other than the Asus motherboard and Nvidia GPU - which are controlled by plug-ins within iCUE.

The H100X RGB Elite (SP fans)is controlled by motherboard software as the PCS one would be.

The H100i Elite Capellix XT (AF fans) comes with a Corsair controller to allow you to control it all from iCUE.

Cooling performance may not be significantly different but the H100i has airflow (AF) fans vs static pressure (SP) fans and has a bigger range of speeds (2400rpm vs 1500rpm) for your fan profile (to adjust noise/cooling balance), and the method of controlling the fan speeds and RGB effects.

I’ve only ever had the older H100i Platinum, and currently have the H150i CUE Link version….as per my signature…mainly as it means all my fans run on the same iCUE LINK ecosystem with minimal wiring…but it’s also a more expensive Corsair case with expensive QX fans all over the place.

Any of the H100 or above coolers will be better quality and more reliable than the PCS ones…but when you’re up against a budget you can’t always have everything you want ;)

I have the h100i platinum in my current build I think or something similar. On actual cooling performance for the 7800x3d would the 100x and frostflow be very similar as for me as long as it keeps it cool and good enough to last 6-7 years then I'm fine getting the less costly cooler and putting that saved money elsewhere in the build such as fast storage and such. Using a software like icue would be beneficial plus the better fans and having a corsair branded cooler would be good but I don't want to spend another £100 for that unless of course it is necessary for cooling

The H100X would be better performing, and longer lasting than the PCS option due to having better fans and pump, and being more reliable.
