Any problems with these specs and Ubuntu 11.04?

Hi All,

I'm new to the forums. I'm currently dual-booting Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows XP on separate drives, and intend to do the same with Ubuntu and Windows 7 on the new system. Are there any known issues with any of these specs in Ubuntu? I'd be most grateful for any replies.

Thank you.

I can't give a full answer, but you won't be able to use the 64 bit version with and Intel processor AFAQIK - is this a problem?

Thanks for the answer and frankly, no, it's not a problem. I've tried checking the Ubuntu Forums for info, because I use Ubuntu 99% of the time and don't want to end up with an unsupported graphics card or whatever. I just thought I'd ask here in case I'm overlooking something. Our last PC came from PCSpecialist (before we'd even heard of Ubuntu) and we've run every version from Hardy to Natty on it without any problems - wonderful!

Just activate the proprietary nvidia drivers in "Additional Drivers" after you've finished installing.

Thanks, pr1s0ner. I might try 64-bit after all. I'm using the proprietary drivers with my current nvidia card. (They caused problems with Jaunty and I had to uninstall them, but they've worked fine in every other version.)

I've been through quite a few different nvidia cards with ubuntu and the only problems I've ever had were with twinview. tbh it was with a couple of pretty old cards :)
