I am using the following monitor on my desktop system:

AOC 21.5" WIDESCREEN LED TFT - 1920 x 1080, 5MS, D-Sub, DVI-D (£89)

Is there a manual or other set of instructions for this monitor. It has a bunch of buttons on the bottom but I have no idea what they do and I don't want to screw up the settings inadvertently.

Also, can the monitor display be adjusted through the keyboard or a software driver?

You didn't get a manual? have you try to find instructions from the manufacturer's website?
Don't think you can alter monitor settings like brightness with the keyboard.

I'm surprised there isn't (even a basic - sometimes only 1 page) manual of instructions. However there will be buttons on the screen which you can use to alter the brightness etc. However AOC's website will have the manuals available.

If you have hotkeys on your keyboard some of them might alter the brightness but I think I've only seen them on laptops if I recall. You can alter the brightness through NVidia control panel and I assume through catalyst control centre too.
