Assistance Building A Mini PC

Am looking for help from someone who actually knows what they're doing compared to me to help build a mini PC that is mainly meant for watching movies/streaming things like Netflix but has enough power to play some mid tier games.

What sorts of games? And what sort of budget?

How "mini" are we talking? And does the PC need to live in any specific dimensions? (i.e. are you going to put it in a small space where it is going to cook itself in its own hot air?) :)

"Mini" PCs are problematic - one, they're not actually very mini (no surprise, you're still putting the same powerful gaming hardware in them) and two, they are more prone to struggling with airflow, limiting upgrade options, can be dustier and noisier, depending on the chassis.

You can buy a "normal" size PC without it being a massive beast of a tower. Some of them are not really much larger than the "mini" systems anyway, usually just a little taller but with a similar footprint.

e.g.
FRACTAL FOCUS G BLACK GAMING CASE - 444mm x 205mm x 464mm (Approx H x W x D) - one of the "normal" cases
Define S Nano - 330mm x 203mm x 400mm (Approx H x W x D) - one of the "mini" cases
Obsidian 750D - 560mm x 235mm x 546mm (Approx H x W x D) - one of the larger 'normal' cases)
As you can see, the Focus G is a relatively compact case.

You didn't say what budget you're aiming for or what monitor you're using, but assuming a 1080p monitor / TV and wanting something decent without paying a fortune, maybe:

Best of luck. I would personally leave a streaming box be a streaming box and let a gaming PC be a gaming PC.

It's very hard to keep a mini PC cool, you're quite restricted in the hardware, and the niche sizing makes everything so expensive. An ITX case costs more than a ATX case for example.
