Audio issues

Hi guys,

I recieved my new PCS desktop yesterday, I am having issues with audio, when plugging in normal headphones (soundmagic e25, or Bose QC25 wired) into the front audio jack I don't get clear sound (its very quiet), If I plug these into the rear audio jack the sound works fine. I have messaged PCS tech support but wanted to put the question on the forum as I know they're probably super busy if it's a quick fix.
Also both these headphones have built in microphones but the PC doesn't seem to recognise these (even if I plug into the jack at the back) - is this normal? I thought if I plugged them in it would just work.
Do I need to buy a gaming headset if I want a headset with a mic?
I've just switched from Apple so it's been a while since using PC hardware - sorry for the newbie questions in advance.

Mobile headsets with built in mics have 3 pin jacks, but PC's don't have that functionality (some laptops now do).

You'd need a splitter to split the mic an headset and then plug them into respective ports.

The other issue I'm not sure on I'm afraid.
