Audio Problem

hi guys

I'm kinda new to PC gaming, but i have encounted an issue with my PC. now I'm pretty sure its a software issue and its more than likely a setting that i have over looked. However i cannot seem to get to the bottom of it.

I currently have my wireless headset connected and working fine. my problem comes when i want to use the sound from my monitor. Im getting no sound at all.

When In speaker setting I can see my wireless headset connected

in the dropdown box i have another 2 options

Realtek Digital Output (realtek High Definition Audio)
and 1 - LC27G5xT (AMD High Definition Audio Device)

the second option is my monitor, but when i select this i still get no sound?

Im kind of stuck at the moment and ive tried all the setting i can see but to no avail.

Also i've double checked the output volume on the monitor and its at max.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

forgot to mention, my monitor is connected to the graphics card via HDMI. i have no other input to the monitor from the PC. i could be totally wrong here but im under the assumption that the HDMI will be enough? or will i need a 2.5mm jack to the monitor from the pc?

Would you mind posting your spec (you can find it from your order page, instructions can be found at the link in my sig) helps answer a few common questions :) ?

What monitor do you have and how is it connected to your PC (ie what cable are you using)? Is the volume turned down on the monitor (you would check this via the monitor's OSD rather than via the computer itself.

Yeah, ive checked the monitor volume its on max

Thanks for you reply.

You'll need to register the PC with PCS to get the specs (its worth doing if you can :) )
I registered like you suggested. however I'm not getting the option to post to forum so a copy and paste is the best i can do! sorry

The G5 doesn't have any speakers, if you connect any monitor via HDMI it will show as an audio device weather it has speakers or not.

But you shouldn't use a gaming monitor with HDMI anyway, should always use display port

thanks for your reply. that would be exactly why the sound isn't working then . i just assumed it had speakers with it having a volume control in the controls.

you mention not to use HDMI and use display port, what's the reason for that? if that's the case ill order one now along with some speakers 🤦‍♂️

The monitor would have included a display port cable.

HDMI is only used for consoles and TV stuff really, it's several generations behind DP, PCs are far more advanced.
