Automated Email build dates

Hello there guys and gals,

If you have ordered a system within the last few days and get an automated build date of over a month please ignore this. Our system is over estimating lead times due to the time of year.

Ill delete this thread when the automated emails catch up.

Ha Ha, me too... had a similar email to you Hazzatori which I read over breakfast this morning, nearly spitting out my half chewed cornflakes as a result !!

I'm so pleased I saw this thread, when I purchased my system, I did so on the 5-7 day lead time for build, I would have happily accepted a few more days on top of that due to Christmas

But nearly 1 month... not acceptable I'm afraid...

I'm not sure what is happening exactly. I spoke to PC Specialist yesterday, who assured me that due to my position in the 'queue', my system would be built and tested middle of this week and despatched for delivery early next week.

But I've just received another automated email informing of a build date at least 3 weeks from now !!

So who's correct ?, human or computer ?

Hi,

Having spoke to Mooseh he confirmed that the system was bugging like the post says, the computer is some how over estimating the build times, if someone has told you it will be built this week then it will be.

When is a Build Date email sent out?

My PC has just entered Pre-production, but I've not received an email with a build date as yet.

If you log in, you can see the build flow chart. Pre-Production can be the longest time, it all depends if your items are in stock. It can be a couple of days, it can be a week.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand about the flow chart. What interested me was "Automated Build Dates" as per thread title - when should I expect to receive one?

Hi there, i believe some people aren't getting the automated emails at the moment, this could be due to them fixing the issue, i have an order in pre-production also and only received one email for it at the start. If it's in pre-production you will be fine.

Thanks for the info - that makes sense. :)

Does this apply to stock stuff? I got a message after I ordered that certain items for my machine will not be in stock until the 22nd.
Might be in for a long wait.

Just to let people know I received an email saying that my laptop has been built and going into testing. The automated email build times are way off, so definitely ignore them.:)

Just to keep the thread updated, for anyone wanting to know..

The last email I got was on Monday @ 15:25

"Your order has now been built and is awaiting testing and configuration."

the status online since then and until right now 10:16 06/01/16 (Wednesday) has been as 'In Building'.

I must say that the Communication at PCS has left a lot to be desired, none of my emails have been answered since I placed my order on the 29th, I find it disheartening since they are keen to take your order but once place, you get very little feedback. this does make me wonder how the after sales support will be?

Was thinking the same with regards to Live Chat. If you don't have the staff to staff it, remove it from the website or give customers very specific reduced Live Chat hours as most companies do. Still, potential bad communication aside, if the PC/Laptop's you lads and ladies have ordered eventually come good I suppose we can't complain too much.

I always feel bad pointing out negativity, after all its easy to forget how hard people do work and how smaller business can struggle against the corps. but when i am spending a fair whack of money and putting my trust into this company, it wouldn't take much to be made to feel a little better, with just some communication.. I genuinely want this company to be brilliant and fulfill all my requirements, but thats up to them and not much I can do about it. I am sure my laptop will be awesome when it (finally) arrives.

I'm starting to get worried, they've already taken £1,940 from my bank account 3 days ago, and I don't just mean the funds have been held back, the completed transaction has appeared on my bank statement.

Yet my system is still in Pre Production, so it doesn't even exist yet and I only have next week when I will be around to accept delivery - after that I don't know whats gonna happen

If anybody from PC Specialist is reading this my order is 909505... please start building it ASAP

You have to pay first, wait for the system to be built and then get it delivered. That is standard procedure for any seller of a customised laptop/desktop. If you need the system by next week I would suggest fast track and for an update contacting PCS directly over the phone since emails may take longer.

Don't worry people.I ordered on the 30th of last month and was given 19th February build time. The automated system was way off as my laptop will be arriving tomorrow.
Great service so far.
