Hi All

Not sure if i'm breaking the rules but I guess you'll just remove this if thats the case but this is a warning for all of you looking to buy a new camera DO NOT buy from Camera Box I purchased a Canon EOS 7D and when it arrived I opened up the box to find a photocopy of the manual, parts were not in plastic and the LCD screen had no protective film over it, Now this could be a genuine Canon camera and just been returned to the shop but they should not be selling as brand new, I looked them up on the web after my discovery and was shocked to find so many disapointed customers, my suspition is these are grey imports (not fact or not that I can prove) I immediatly spoke to my credit card company who knew them very well although he did say I was the first person to call this week about them.
I am sending the camera back tomorrow (at my cost) so hopefully I will get my money back
So please do not make the same mistake

Apologies if I broke the rules but didn't want others to be ripped off

Hi SteveB, this isnt against the rules and may prove useful to our many photographer customers.

(Edited August 20th by brynhils) *Poor Service & Grey Imports* Despite paying for the service, the Next-Day delivery promise never materialised and we were unable to take receipt until after our vacation. Immediately noticeable was the laser-copied and stapled User Manual. Then our registration attempt at Nikon (UK) reveals the camera to be a GREY IMPORT, which means [quote from Nikon]Nikon European offices cannot provide any technical support or warranty service for Grey Market product[end quote]. Check the internet for reviews on CameraBox before you buy - I wish we had, because we would have gone elsewhere and bought a properly supported UK spec camera.

Thats a review from pricegrabber thats linked to from their website, so it doesnt look like your the only one!

Little rip off merchants! No far from being against the rules, this will be valuable info to anyone, even googlers that may stumble accross this thread when searching about the company :)

Defo not the only one just type into google Camera Box reviews and see the amount of descruntled customers "shocking"
I can't believe I bought from them normally I'm really carefull, I should get my money back as I responded within 7 days so consumer rights is on my side
I have kept all corraspondance and informed my credit card company and paypal, it may take a while (hopefully not) but should see my cash back

defo rep for posting that warning! its not against the rules for helping people especially when its justified! rather than just plain flaming about a company!

Grrr! I hate companies like this! They shouldn't be allowed to do this. Kinda reminds me of a company called PCSpecialist. Just kidding :p

Hope it all works out OK Steve, I normally deal with either Warehouse Express or Park Cameras both bona fide Companies not quite as good as PCS but getting there!!

Thanks Camerashy, should be ok, I sent it back to them and the received it today which is the sixth day so as long as they play by the rules I should see the cash back,
I usually use Warehouse Express but was trying to save a couple of quid and because Camera Box had been on the gadget show I didn't think twice and just ordered as they weren't ridiculasly cheap,
I have another one now which I got from Tesco and is spot on and worked out cheaper lol,
One thing I didn't mention in the original post was that the discs were not legit either but didn't really pay much attention to them and only realised when I got my new one delivered yesterday, Proper shysters that bunch at Camera Box

Update and conclusion to this, I got my money back in full :)

I still would not recommend anyone use this company and I only got all my cash back because I acted so quickly, I say all my cash back but it still cost me posting the camera back and cost me I don't know what yet in phone calls but hey lesson learnt

Now I can relax and wait on my new pc, hopefully not too long though, Come on PCS get onto them suppliers and kick butt ;o)
