Awkward usb slot placement

- and not enough USB slots by half !!

My old PC* has this issue like a case in point At the very limited area for USB and sound plug connections at the back
I have to contort myself just to see if theres a spare slot or a loose usb plug.
So I would need to be some kind of twinkle-toes just to have proper access to these usb slots and anything in that area
thats my beef with current case design

If there was only something like a pad which would be like a physical extension of that area and all those connections
so you could have that pad about the size of an xbox controller and shift it to either side or to on top or at the front even for easy access to like 10 or more USB slots and one could sort out all those fiddly sound wires connections as well
Maybe the connection to that pad would have to be a bit chunky being full of the necessary amount of cables
But still that would solve the accessibility problem I believe

*& as with most of the cases Iv looked at on PCSPECIALIST even when theyre over €300

I think you're getting things a bit confused.

The ports on the rear are nothing to do with a case, those are ports on the motherboard. Motherboards all come in standard sizes, ITX, ATX and EATX. This is on any PC in the world, they're all the same (unless you're talking NUCs which are slightly different designs.

The case ports are always very limited, there are usually only a couple unless you plump for the extremely expensive cases which sometimes have a few more, but those would need a motherboard that supported those front connections, basically there is only one top of the range Asus board that would support them.

But this is just how PC's have been designed since the 80s really, not sure there's anything that can be done, but worth putting energy into a startup to create some new standards perhaps if you have a bit of equity handy ;)

You could get a USB-hub (or Thunderbolt hub) and magnetically stick it to the side of the case.

I've got this Caldigit Elements Thunderbolt Hub on my Mac, as they never provide enough USB/TB ports...but it just sits on top of my Mac Studio.

Of course it is the motherboard & soundcard that have to be connected
I was indeed well confused about those outlets & connections as being a problem to do with the case
Both your heads-ups are appreciated
Looks like Im going to have to get one of those thunderbolts can they be got through /from Amazon??

Yes I have one of those and occasionally plug it in when Im stuck for a spare slot
- but is it true that such can wear that little battery on the motherboard down when the hub is attached for long?

It would only draw current when a USB device is connected.

But the CMOS batter has no relation to powered devices, totally separate power supply.
