Back for another moan

Well I'm back yet again for another moan. I'm sure most people (particularly mods) are getting sick to the back teeth of me but couldn't help myself. I received this email yesterday early morning:

Your order is one of the next to go into building. AS soon as this is picked up by the Laptop team you will get an email letting you know the progress of the order.

We're now at the end of day 8 of the 5-7 day timeline and still nothing has changed. As I mentioned in my other thread I compromised my order so as to, hopefully, speed up the process and also to make things easier on PCS as there have been compatibility issues with their built in Bluetooth, however, emails like the one above and previous posts stating things will be moving after the weekend are making me think that I'm being told what I want to hear in order to fob me off. Now I realise I may be way off with this assumption and I know I'm a bit of an impatient pain in the backside but I am in need of a computer and for £1400 would hope that being told something would actually mean it was being done and that I wasn't just being paid lip service. Anyway that's where I am at the mo impatient and frustrated. Just needed to share my angst and let off some steam. Hope I haven't overly offended anyone and no one spits in my laptop. As I said I will gladly eat my words should anything change.

Mate, i had a bigger problem with dell! They cancelled my order during the build, then tried to blame me? And their generic emails are even more useless.

Looking around, other laptop manufactures in the uk, i wont mention names are about 2 weeks behind on orders due to various problems so i have no doubt there are others in the same boat.

Now i have to start all over again with mine.......not dell! Im ordering with pcspecialist, well if the finance comes through.

If it makes you feel any better, in our office, we made 4 orders and payments. Mine, with PCS, 2 with Dell. One for a laptop and one for a Touchscreen thingy, and one with Apple for an ipad.

Mine turned up first, with everything :D Second, 2 laptop bags....and that's it....

PCS are underload right now.....so bare with them. I can assure you, once received, your mistress will be the best thing since suspenders :D

I know it's going to be the best thing in the world...ever and I'm sure PCS are very busy that's sort of why the 'Your order is one of the next to go into building' galls me a bit when nothing comes of it. It really does feel like they're just trying to appease me. Wow the more I write the more I realise I'm a proper whinging d***head. Ignore me everyone but I do hope something happens very soon as I can't keep using my iPhone to write all this vitriol.

Its not that they don't do ur order. Its just they DON'T HAVE PARTS...

Thats the issue now, at least in my case... I've ordered on last monday (a week ago 28/03) and its estimated to be ready between 11-15 April - Way out of 5-7 days. Simply because they cant start making it until parts arrive. I do agree there is a bit of an ''chaos'' in office mainly because when I order I was missing just CPU, and I was told to call them back on 6-7 and ask for fast track which would get it done very quick... However it looks like I somehow manage to lose also Case + GPU + SSD... Chaos Chaos Chaos... But well other than that I think they are just fine. Just don't take the timing too serious... U buying a laptop ? Give it a month at least to be made...

Cu around.

I ordered mine on 25th march I've already contacted them and have not been informed of any stock problems with my order. There was an issue with built in Bluetooth but I agreed to change my order for them in order to negate the problem but with no affect. I certainly haven't got a month to wait for a new laptop I'll be getting my money back way before then and buying elsewhere though it's already coming up to 2 weeks. I'm still holding out hope but patience is not a virtue I'm massively installed with at the moment. Good luck with your order hope it gets sorted.

When my latest PC was going through the system, a couple of the emails saying it was going through different stages arrived within a few minutes of each other. I suspect that someone actually did part of the work but didn't input it into the system or forgot to do so until after he'd finished and the emails aren't generated until that happens. Once I got the confirmation that it had been built, it sailed through testing and was dispatched the next day.

Don't let that one month claim bother you. If it was true, the laptop forums would be a lot busier.

Seems like you were right Pengi I received my 'in building' and 'in testing' emails at exactly the same time this morning and now awaiting dispatch. I have well and truly eaten humble pie and Carl Auckland is my new hero (any problems permitting lol) :D

Ive had the exact opposite problem - I ordered mine over the weekend, and its now ready for dispatch (i did -not- pay for fast track) so it took just 3 working days. I hadnt planned on it being so quick so i have no one to be at home to receive it this week. So ive asked them to postpone dispatch till Tues!
I admit this is not the worst problem in the world to have!
