So on my first boot I was getting the FPS I was expecting in all my games but then after booting it for the second time I seem to be either limited to or being given latency at a max of 30fps? (Commonly at 20 though)
I have a recoil 15.6 with 3080 ryzen 5900hx...
2tb ssd...
Ill be phoning pcs if no one has anyideas...

Hi there, can you post your full specs from your order page? Its easier than folk asking about individual components again and again (puts everything in a nice neat list)

There's a link to format your specs for the forums on your order page.

What games have you tried? Have you finished running windows update and all that sort of stuff (latest suitable nvidia drivers and what not)?

What makes you say this? What do you think you've done? Or perhaps more importantly, what have you been doing recently (ie just prior to you noticing the issue)?

I should also ask, when you say after first boot, do you mean each day (ie the first boot up in a day seems to work ok)? Or are you experiencing the issue all of the time now?

After I booted it for the first time I went a head to the downloads bit on pcs and I realized only after downloading and running a few of the things that they are all windows 10...

Ok, so you don't know if you would have had the same issues upon first boot really (you didn't get a chance to test it). Not an issue, just trying to get a clearer picture of the situation :)

Do you have Windows 11 on the PC or Windows 10 (I get the impression you've got Win11)?

What things did you download and run from PCS's site?

What games/programs have you tested your laptop on so far?

Do you know what version of the Nvidia driver you're running?

On any new Windows install (as you have on a new PC) there is a fair bit of configuring that Windows does in the background for the first few hours (days?) - the disk indexer runs over all your drives building the indexes for example - and these processes do use up a fair chunk of CPU time. It might settle down in a couple of days.....

Downloaded everything the recommeneded for windows 10... (even though I am running windows 11) I have tested it on csgo, valorant and bf 2042... each are limited to 30fps I think its definately an issue with some kind of latency... because everything I do is delayed... I dont really know what is up with it...

See the issue is even when I play my games my cpu is only running at 3-4%??? I have no clue why?
Open Task Manager, click on the Performance tab, reduce the width so that only the graphs on the left are showing, click on Options and then Always On Top. Now you can see the resource utilisations whilst you run the game - which (if any) are peaking?
