Best Gaming PC Pre built or Custom?

Hey! I would like to build or purchase a pre built gaming pc but im not sure what will be best and was wondering what will be your suggestion? I'm from UK. I've seen some of PC Specialist but not sure what will be best. I would ideally like to spend £2000-£3000 in total. This will be used strictly for gaming and nothing else. Thanks in advance for your support.

What monitor do you have or do we have to figure in peripherals in to that budget of £3k
I have a Benq XL2411P Monitor and as for the Gaming PC i just want something which is a beast which i can play Warzone and other games on. I'm not a really big fan of the RGB lights but i dont mind whatever tbh.

We can get you a great system and a monitor for three grand, then your current screen can become your second monitor 👍

Given your budget, I’d suggest getting a monitor in there as the 1080p 144hz is quite entry level in today’s standards. But I’ll get back to that

5000X is a fantastic case. The 5800X is the gaming CPU to have right now, I’ve paired that with the X570 TUF for its uprated VRM’s over the B550 boards. 16GB is the standard for a gaming system, you might want to consider more if you’re going to stream, video edit or play MSFS or heavily modded titles. For the monitor I’m thinking of I’ve gone for the 3070TI, it’s only £60 more than the standard 3070 right now. For storage. There’s a super fast 500GB M.2 for windows and programs, then a dedicated 2TB SSD games drive and a 2TB HDD for general files. For PSU, I’ve gone for the RMx850W which is a top of the line unit and will power this pc nicely. For CPU cooling, the 5800X can run pretty hot, so I’ve opted for the Capellix H115i. If you need WiFi the AX200 is a no brainier as is the Silver warranty for £5.

This build does have some RGB, but I think it’ll be pretty tasteful. If you’d rather turn it all off, it will mostly be controlled through Corsair’s iCUE software, making it super simple to toggle.

For monitors, I have the AOC CU34G2X in mind. It’s a lovely 1440p ultrawide that will be awesome for gaming. You could then use your BenQ as a secondary. These run for about £450. @AgentCooper has one and is very happy with it.

That should come to £2,831. Any questions, feel free to ask!

Hey! I have soo many questions but 3 questions are on my head atm also you'll want to kill me because its probably the newbiest question you'll ever be asked.

I currently have a pc which is decent that i will be using as a second computer just for stream and have it connect to the gaming PC with Elgato HD60 s. Or what would you say would be better?

Q1: Does a better soundcard help with gaming? For exampling hearing footsteps and just better sound in general
Q2: What is the max fans i could have built into the case for better cooling?
Q3: Does it include liquid cooling as i dont want the pc to overheat also would better thermal paste be better?
Q4: I'm a controller so would a USB port upgrade help in wany way?

Also I will upgrade my monitor to what you have suggested :)
Thank you Very Much.

No worries! It's what we're here for, ask away!

With PC streaming these, PC's are now so powerful, that you can generally get away with having just 1 PC to do everything. This also means you can just use software and GPU encoding for everything which will mean you won't have to buy an elgato which I thought was generally only for consoles. That said, I'm not the most knowledgable for dual system stream setups, so I'll leave that to someone else

Q1: Does a better soundcard help with gaming? For exampling hearing footsteps and just better sound in general
For gaming, no. Motherboard audio is generally very good these days so I'd only suggest a sound card if you were to be doing some sort of specific audio work

Q2: What is the max fans i could have built into the case for better cooling?
The 5000X fits 10... or 13 if you want to push pull the radiator (have fans on both sides of the rad) but that's overkill and more fans = louder. The setup you have on the build I specced will be perfectly fine, you could upgrade to the Capellix H150i as it'll give better asthetics and knock off a few more degrees, but again, not necessary and I believe it's currently out of stock. If you wanted to you could add another 3 LL fans on the configurator and they'd be put somwhere in the case, but it's not totally necessary

Q3: Does it include liquid cooling as i dont want the pc to overheat also would better thermal paste be better?
An AIO is liquid cooling, yes. But it's a sealed unit and will need no more maintainence than a blow of air every few months. Performance wise, AIO's are so good now, custom loops (the ones with tubes everywhere) really aren't necessary for 99% of use cases, plus they add a TONNE of complexity for maintainence. For thermal paste, the Corsair AIO's come with high quality stock paste pre-applied, so the 'upgraded' stuff isn't needed.
Q4: I'm a controller so would a USB port upgrade help in wany way?
Do you mean adding in a PCIe USB card? If so no, the motherboard will already have lots of the latest ports on it and the extra card will only add more USB's. If you do need more USB's I'd honestly recommend getting a cheap USB hub off of Amazon.

Again, happy to help and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. It's what we're here for 😂

Ok so I’ve read through everything you said 3 times just to make sure

Q1: “you could upgrade to the Capellix H150i” I’ve looked and they all have the same name? I know for one of the title it says it’s more silent? Do you mean upgrade to one of those?

Q2: also I got rid of the wireless as I’m using Ethernet. Did I make a bad move?

Q3: would this come build or would I need to build this?

Q1: 'Capellix' is the model. it's a Corsair Capellix H150i. The CPU cooler I put in yours was the Corsair Capellix H115i which is a 2x 140mm fan radiator, aka a 280mm rad. The Corsair Capellix H150i is a 3x 120mm fan radiator, aka a 360mm rad. The suggestion was to upgrade to a Corsair Capellix H150i, but as I've noted, the H115i (which is what I suggested on my inital spec) will be more than sufficient. < I hope that's understandable, Corsair's naming system is super complicated 😂

Q2: If you use Ethernet for your PC, removing the WIFI card is fine! The motherboard will have a plug to plug in the ethernet cable

Q3: Has already been answered 😂 But yes, you pick the spec, and 'someone else' (PCS) will build it, test it and ship it to you, pretty much ready to go (bar removing the packaging, a few windows updates and graphics driver updates which are all super simple)

PC Specialist will honour the price quoted in the link for five days after it is saved. Prices do fluctuate rapidly, especially so during these troubled times so strike whilst the iron is hot 👍

I for one would not go for the H150i cooler. It's really long (360mm) but narrower (120mm) than the H115i (which is 280x140mm). Overall, the difference in cooling performance is minimal (about 10%), but the difference in fitting the thing into your case is massive! With the 5000X, you get three fans in the front of the case; with the H115i you can then put the cooler and its two 140mm fans on the top, but with the H150i it has to go in the front, which is a real pity from an aesthetic standpoint and isn't so great for cooling your graphics card. I'd definitely stick with the H115i.

I’m sure the H150i fits on the top in this case. I’ve seen other builds with it installed like this. The 5000x is one of the few case that it works like this with.

Ah, I stand corrected. (Though I'd still stick with the H115i in terms of value for money.)

Hey! So I check out the monitor AOC CU34G2X and realised its a 34 inch. I enjoy a normal size of 24’. Is there one within this size which you would recommend ?

Size is related to resolution, so 24” is 1080p, 1440p is 27 - 32” and 4k is 27” upwards.

There are no monitors outside of 1080p under 27”

In terms of height, it's basically exactly the same as a 27" display, just wider. I made the switch to 27" (not ultra wide) recently and it's an amazingly better experience. I'd heartily recommend the AOC mentioned above as an amazing experience.

If you are going for a smaller monitor, you can should a bunch on the graphics card because there's just no point in having anything better.

Ohh I see. I just really want something that would be perfect for fps games. I have tried using a big screen before but it did not suit me as I play close to the screen

Yeah, you've been playing at 1080p which is 50% less pixels than a 1440p screen, hence the fact they're larger in size. There's literally more real estate to show.
