Best monitor for gaming?

Can anyone advise me as to the best monitor to purchase for gaming?
I am looking for a screen size of approximately 22 inches to 25 inches.

well i've got a 32" HD monitor and as much as its good, some stuff is just too stretched! main stream games are awsome but i like MMO's which dont run aswell in a massive screen!

All you need is a good response time, 5ms or less, if you like games to look really good find one with a good contrast ratio. Don't look for ones with 'X-Contrast' or any sort of phoney extreme contrast ratio.

Also don't get one too big if you sit quite close, I got a 28" Hannspree that is pretty bloody awesome but I have to sit right back now to play FPS games lol.
