Blender & Articad Spec Workstation

Hi Everyone,

Advice required please.

I've just spec'ed this machine as a fast workhorse for using blender and Articad (for kitchen designs). Anyone got any feedback suggestions? Is it under or over spec'ed? I'm wanting a workstation that will last a long time without having to change it but also then needs to be upgradable when the time comes.

Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade a PC for someone but I can't find how the Articad software actually uses the GPU.
Their current PCs have very basic GPUs and Threadrippers of at least 24 cores and they complain its slow.
As for your build I think you'd be better saving money and going for DDR4

I've done some research and testing, Articad does not use GPU rendering at all you have to export the render into Blender and then play about in Blender to get it looking right.
To do a render in Articad with a reasonable about of lighting on a 3970X 32 core Threadripper takes about 4 minutes a 2970WX 24 core takes about 8 and a half minutes.
So it appears you need as many cores as you can afford for Articad.
