Last night my new PCS desktop blue screened with the message "DPC Watchdog Violation" is this a one off thing that I can just ignore? if not, how can I sort this out if it reoccurs?

That error can mean a few things unfortunately. If you can upload the memory.dmp file in c:/windows then we may be able to see what is actually causing it. First things to make sure of are latest graphics drivers? Do you have a raid setup, if not uninstall irst (Intel rapid storage manager).
