That case will have very low airflow and that PSU isn't gonna be able to keep up with your specs and that cooler is not good enough for your processor...

As above it's really high end components paired with underpowered cooling and power delivery. The build won't last long before it thermal throttles and grinds to a halt.

Thanks for moving the thread Spyder, it indeed was a bit out of place to stay there ahaha

I checked the specs previously in the forum: I was told to downgrade to 16GB and pick a 1TB SSD. Nobody mentioned cooling issues. @AleTax @SpyderTracks Could you suggest better cooling?
Weird... I'd go at least with the Corsair H115I PRO XT or the Elite Capellix, you'd also want to change that case and that PSU tho... For the PSU I'd say the Corsair RMx 850 and for the case I'd pick a very nice Corsair 5000D to fit in that 280mm radiator :)

Looking at the thread, you were given an updated build with an 850W RM PSU, and a Coolermaster 240 lite cooler. The Coolermaster would be the minimum I would pair with the 5800x, the Corsair coolers mentioned have improved cooling performance, run quieter thanks to ML fans and look nicer, but are more expensive.

You were advised a very different spec but chose to ignore it:

You would need a substantially better case, a minimum of the Coolermaster 4000D

You would need a 850W RMx PSU preferably

You'd need a minimum of a Coolermaster liquid lite 240mm but preferably an H100i Capellix.

You're missing loads of the rest of the build.

If the OP doesn't mind spending a bit more, I'd say the H115I coolers from Corsair is worth the extra money

I just saw the H100I Capellix is back in stock, didn't see that ahaha, yeah in that case he could go with that one even if the H115I is just a few extra and might be worth it for the ease of mind :)

Before this goes in a direction best avoided, I'm going to outline the changes we would recommend.

Case upgraded to one with more appropriate airflow: Corsair 4000D and 220t are good value picks here
PSU upgraded to better support your components: Minimum 750W RMx, 850W RMx would be ideal.
Cooler upgraded to look after your CPU: Minimum Coolermaster Masterliquid 240 lite, ideally H100i Elite Capellix

@SpyderTracks Thank you. The spec I was advised was with an RGB case which I didn't prefer. The final advice after that was about the RAM and SSD.

@MrWilson I agree but that was for a different case with RGB. Thank you for your updated advise.

@AleTax Thank you for your suggestions too

Much appreciated.

When I try increasing the PSU, the checkout advisor says I don't need a higher PSU, that's why I downgraded.

The PSU advice is based on your current requirements, but you're building this PC to last for 7 to 10 years if done correctly and it needs to accommodate upgrades during that time. Believe me, your requirements for the PC will change during that time, they always do. You want to be able to upgrade it in anyway you choose, not be limited by not having enough power.

If RGB isn't your thing, the 4000D Airflow will be a good pick. It has a refined design but offers much better airflow. The case you currently have selected is very budget and will make your components very hot, which will decrease performance substantially and can even cause your components some serious damage.

The advisor recommends a wattage based on estimated usage. However you always want to spec a higher PSU than that. If you have a PC running at near max load it is less efficient and causes a lot of wear and tear, heat and noise. It's like having a car engine at full throttle all the time when it is designed to be optimal when cruising at a slower speed. You also get room for any upgrades down the line with your PC, such as a new graphics card in a few years time. Additionally, the only 450W PSU is the CV range, which is quite a budget range and are really only appropriate for very basic office PCs.

@SpyderTracks @MrWilson Thank you very much. I wasn't looking for my build to last more than 5 years. But I see where you are coming from and totally agree. I think paying a bit more for long-term investment is a good idea.
That's it exactly, for a little extra money now, you get far better performance long term. It really does make all the difference.

@MrWilson @SpyderTracks @AleTax How would these compare if I don't want RGB or if it's a low priority?

RGB can be turned off. Elite capellix will have roughly the same performance, it has very powerful fans though but, the main difference between the RGB PRO XT and Elite Capellix will be, the capellix has a commander node - which will allow you to control the fans and pump through desktop software. You may want the pump on quiet sometimes and then on extreme in heavy workloads etc and icue and a commander make all the difference.
