Build Feedback

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to PC building and was wondering if you could spot any improvements for my build. E.g. If I've gone overkill on components and could save money somewhere. I am a content creator for YouTube so will be used for editing (Premiere Pro) as well as gaming. The fans was my biggest are of concern, I wasn't sure if I should get liquid cooling or whatever. I'd like to have 3 RGB fans on the front. Thanks so much in advance!

We can definitely help you with this. A few questions:

1) What's the budget?
2) What monitor will you be using?
3) What kind of games?
4) What kind of footage/videos? (4K, 1080p, or something more exotic?)

Finally, is there a particular reason for going for Intel? AMD are ahead right now in every area...

Thanks for the reply. I’ve only chosen intel as I’m familiar with them, if AMD is better I’m open to hearing suggestions! I have a 1080p monitor and game/upload content in 1080p. However would prefer to be future proof if I ever swap to a 4K monitor. Budget is around £1500 ideally.

I know for sure I want at least an RTX 3060 and 32GB ram. I have no clue on motherboards so any help with this also would be great.

I must also mention that I primarily play Minecraft but use heavy mods and shaders which can be very resource-demanding. My budget has room to stretch and is not limited to £1500, so if there is anything you would strongly recommend that pushes it over the budget, I would definitely consider.

What no RGB RAM it only adds £11 to the build, a worthwhile investment

Thanks a lot for the feedback, much appreciated. What RGB ram would you recommend? And is there any reason for going with 4x8 instead of 2x16?

There is a slight performance benefit to quad channel with Ryzens but if you feel you'll need 64GB of RAM at some point you can go for 2x16?

It's all down to your preference really, 64GB would be fairly niche though

4*8 RGB also looks better than just 2................

I think 32GB will be fine for me, so in that case I'll go with the 4x8 vengence RGB Pro. Also why have you chosen the 750W? I guess for future protection right? When I save quote, it says I'll only need 650W

You don't build for what you currently need you build for what you may need in future. I'd rather you spent the money on the 850W RMx over the RGB RAM to be honest. The 750W for example would be really strained trying to run a 3080 whereas the 850W would give you just a little head room.

You don't want to have to go installing a whole new PSU if you want to upgrade to a higher grade GPU in future

No the 4000D does not have RGB fans. The 5000X would come with them though if that's a priority
Thanks, I chose the 4000D because it would be more compact on my desk. If I add some RGB fans to my order, will these be put in the font and replace the case fans?

Yes, probably. If I were you though I'd make the order, then get in touch with PCS to make sure that's what they do.

Could you explain the reason for the storage chosen? Is either of those two PCIe 4.0?

I'd imagine the idea behind @Steveyg 's choices being the smaller faster 500GB Intel drive would be a drive for Windows and applications then the larger slower (but still pretty quick) 1TB PCS drive being for basically everything else (games, file storage etc). Neither of them are Gen 4, although that's not necessarily an issue, Gen 3 NVME's are still lightning quick compared to a HDD or even SATA SSD.
