Just for some clarification, 99% of the wait time, you're in pre production where it's just in a queue to be built, so it's nothing but a bunch of parts, and they're not gathered until build time.

The actual build time takes maybe an hour or two, then it goes through to testing which take from 12 to 24 hours, then assuming they don't find any issues it's despatched.

So the final day or so is when it's actually being built and tested, up until then it's just a thought and twinkle in PCS's eyes (and yours).
