Can someone clear this up for me?

Basically does this mean aslong as my faulty item fits in the box I don’t have to do anything? I don’t need to package it or put a label on it etc as it will just go straight into the pink dpd box?

Yep as long as it fits in the box you just do a straight swap with the driver, out of interest what is it you are doing an RMA on

Yep, if your item is (for example) a hard drive, you won't need to do anything other than hand it over after receiving your replacement.

Personally I would put a piece of paper in the box with your name, your original order number, your RMA number, and your phone number on so there is no doubt where the returned item(s) have come from. :)
This is not a bad shout at all, the info should be on the label on the box (but unless you check there's no guarantee) regardless of that though, belt and braces - having it on paper in the box is an easy step to make sure.
