Can't change brightness on Optimus V 17"

So I've recently bought an Optimus V 17" from PCS and have found that I can't change the brightness. Changing brightness in 'Power Options' doesn't seem to work, and I can't use the FN + F8/9 either.

I've tried reinstalling both NVidia and Intel HD 4600 Graphics Drivers, and that hasn't made a difference whatsoever.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.
