Can't connect to the internet

Just received my new laptop. It won't connect to either the fibre optic or broadband network I have access to.... Any ideas. Very disappointed have been looking forward to getting it for weeks

How are you trying to connect? Wireless or cable? What happens when you try to connect? What error do you see?

as above. Are you trying with wireless and not seeing any options of routers to connect to?
Is there no wireless options at all?
Are you plugging it in to the lan and nothing is happening?

Could be many things, some complex, some as simple and installing a new driver but more details are needed first.
