Capture Card

Hi guys,
Looking for some advice I have started a youtube channel and want to get some Xbox gameplay. My Pc is upstairs will an Elgato record footage on to the device or do I need the Pc by the Xbox or Visa Versa?

You will need access to a USB port on a PC/Laptop for storage. You could do this with a long USB cable but that's quite messy, you could also use a laptop if you have one.
