Case Migration?

Evening all,

Thinking about transferring my PC internals from the maelstrom t900 case to either a Cooler Master HAF X or possibly more likey the new Cooler Master Cosmos 2 as space really is cramped. Just wondering how easy the process is? I'm happy enough adding components to an already built machine such as GPUs and RAM etc but A, Ive never built a system before and B, Ive never handled a motherboard or CPU.

While I am wary of static, is it really as simple as swapping the parts over to the new case?

Current specs as follows.

Intel i7 2600 Quad Core
ASUS P8P67 Pro
SLi GTX 580 3GB
120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
1TB Caviar Black
256GB Samsung 830 SSD
Corsair 1000w Pro
Tripple Copper Heat Pipe CPU Cooler

Cheers

Dan

The cosmos 2 is massive, any reason why you need so much space? or your components are so cramped? You need to unscrew the motherboard and disconnect all the power cables, then transfer the mobo and all the other components (SSD, HDD, cd-drive, etc). If you have not done it before I'd try to seek further advice before doing it.

Just thought the case looked really good with lots of easy access. Perhaps the Haf X would be better after all.

I'd say that if you wish to add several fans, use a dual radiator cpu and a large mobo then go for it but it is very expensive. I got the Haf-x and to me that is massive, the cosmos 2 is bigger. The haf-x comes with instructions (I assume every case does) on how to fit the motherboard which I think is the most difficult bit, I don't think you need to move the cpu cooler.
