Hi,

I've just sent this message to Support but just wanted to check I'm not missing anything??

Dear PC Specialist

I know I've had my new laptop for a few weeks now, and I am really happy with it.

However, I've noticed that there are only three USB ports on the laptop.

My order was advertised and confirmed as '3 x USB 3.0 PORTS + 1 x USB 2.0 PORT AS STANDARD'

I can't for the life of me see the fourth port.

It was only when I wanted to use my Laptop in a live DJ environment (I have attached Mouse, External Hard Drive, USB Sound Card and USB Snake Light to attach. I then discovered that there was a missing USB port. I wanted to avoid having a breakout USB multi-Port so I had to forego my light on the night...

Is there anything that can be done? I obviously don't have the hardware I was expecting...

Kind Regards

Gary Skelton

Looks to me like there is only 3 USB ports available on the Cosmos laptops. Not that this solves your current issue but perhaps its an error in the configurator?

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I was really hoping that my new laptop would have enough USB for anything I needed to connect, which is why I was so pleased to see it had 4.

I'm quite irritated about this, but not quite enough to throw my laptop out of the pram.

I'll wait to see what Support has to say about my email.

Thanks again.

regards

One of them might be a combination E-sata and USB port.

I have on my vortex anyway, Three on the Left 2 of which are USB 3 one on the right which is USB 2 and one on the back which is a Esata/USB Combi, it looks square but there is a usb pot right in the middle of it.

I think that might be what your looking at but theres no pictures showing the other sides.

Hope this solves the problem.

Just checked the specification it says

USB 3 x USB 3.0 Ports & 1 x USB 2.0 Port
USB/e-SATA 1

So i guess that USB/e-SATA is your 4th

BLIMEY OH REILLY!!

I'll try that as soon as I get home.

I always avoid trying to put the wrong cable in the wrong holes so must have ignored that little gem!

Thanks for your help - I'll report back.

:tt1:

Yeah that one is crazy because it feels like your putting a round peg in a square hole lol.

It will fit in there its like a combo port.

The annoying thing is the number of times i have put the USB into the LAN port also as it fits perfectly in there too but doesn't work.

Really hope that's the solution, let us know.
