CPU cooler

Hi! I ordered a PC from PC specialist, I have an AMD stock cooler which is quite loud, and I'm not sure if my temperatures are a bit too high. I get 40-55 idle. If I ordered a different, quieter cooler from PCspecialist, would I be able to change it myself, without voiding the warranty? And how long do you think PCspecialist would take to change it, if I sent it back?

Here are my specs;

Those temperatures for idle are okay, no real cause for concern. It's what temperatures you get when the system is under load for a sustained period that'd be the ones to keep an eye on. Have you got any figures there?

If you did want to change your cooler and ordered from PCS, they have an open case policy. So as long as you didn't cause any damage during the installation process, your warranty would be unaffected. I'm unsure what the turnaround time would be if you wished for them to install it on your behalf.

My CPU runs between 31-38 degrees at idle. But mine seems unsually cool. I feel sorry for it sometimes and have considered blowing on it to warm it up on cold evenings.

But there is no doubt idling in the 40's or 50's is fine. As AgentCooper says, it's the load tmeperatures that are more important. Any info you have on max temps under load would help the resident gurus here advise you better....
