CPU Multiplier stuck

My CPU (2630 QM) multiplier has stuck at 8.0x, thus giving me a 800Mhz cpu clock speed. No matter what I do, change the power plan, run intensive programs, the speed stays at 800 Mhz.

Any suggestions on how to unstick the multiplier?

Are you confident that the monitoring application that you are using is accurate, and do others give the same results?

Also double check that maximum processor state is above 5% in the processor power management section of your advanced power options settings.

Yes, I am. I was using CPUz and Prime95, multiplier was always stuck at 8x.

However thanks to PCS support, and a 55 minute phone call it is now resolved.

It turns out the hotkeys application has installed a powerbiosserver service, which appears to have locked the multiplier, I unistalled the application and re-installed it, now the laptop is running smothly again.

Amny thansk to the Support Team member, whose name I forgot.
