CPUs for Linux Debian Buster desktop

Hi.

I would like some advice on which CPU to use with a desktop to be built with the standard, stable Linux Debian Buster
release as the operating system. I have heard reports that this release will not work with the latest (3rd generation) AMD Ryzen CPUs and also probably won't work with 9th generation Intel CPUs. Maybe back ported Buster will work with these CPUs, but I
am not good with Linux, so wish to use the stable Buster release.

Can anyone please help me find a suitable CPU ? I will be using the amd64 architecture.

I have two CPUs of interest at the moment :-

AMD Ryzen 5 2500X
AMD Ryzen 5 2600E

AMD have been very good in the last couple of years and although there were slight problems with the latest Ryzens they were fixed within a week. Check here for latest news: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=home

What will the computer be used for as that effects choice of parts. Also, is this going to be a PCS build as these fora belong to PC Specialist and we can only comment on their builds.

Thanks for your reply. The desktop will be a private computer used for office work.
At the moment several companies are of interest to build the computer.

As this forum belongs to PCS who build custom desktops and laptops, we can only advise on PCS builds if you're interested. They come fully built delivered to your door, but you have to order a complete system, you can't order components.

If you're interested post your budget and software packaged you'll be using.
