it's impossible for us to say what you are likely to get on finance, every case is take on its merits and we have no information to go on.

For a rig like that you will be looking to spend £800 on the low and up to about £1200 on the higher end.

The above looks ok. Perhaps going to the 'top spec' configurator and getting the z87-a would help keep it more upgradable in the future, but overall it looks ok.

Yup... could add another £90 to that build to upgrade to the Z-97A (or gigabyte Z97X) and a 850W PSU to allow future upgrades (ie. a second 980) if you wanted.

Didn't get the title until Mantadog mentioned the finance option. Low credit rating I would say it would be difficult to get accepted. Probably better to get a credit card and a cheaper build with just the essentials

Speaking from experience (I was made redundant 3 times in as many years) my credit rating is shot for the next 12 months due to Vodafone deciding to put a Default on my file. It's pretty easy to get a really crappy credit card, and so long as you pay it off in full every month (and don't have PPI), they shouldn't charge any interest. If you use 50% or less of the credit limit, this will reflect good management of your revolving credit. However, the starting limits on such cards can be so low that it wouldn't be sufficient to buy a PC on. Additionally, the rate will be extortionate. After about 3 or 4 months, you should see your credit rating improve significantly. If you can stand to wait, you should be able to get the credit you want at a decent rate.
