Hiya, getting a "checking your browser" which a DDOS check message beneath and the site has been flaky for the last few days... Are PCS getting bombarded???

If so, and you can find an IP, please share so I can attack back!!!

seems like it, though rather than PCS being attacked is most probably an attack to the server that hosts PCS, so who knows exactly which web the attacker is aiming for

you do realise DDoS attacks are illegal
Chances are the IPs are spoofed and thewre is no way to attack back

Hi guys

Yes, we've been getting hammered unfortunately. IPs totally distributed and appear to be predominantly from hijacked PCs in the UK. We had to move our DNS over to a DDoS mitigation company and turn up the settings to "under attack" at several times. We are back up and running for now but lots of customers may have experienced problems either getting on our website or paying for orders.

Must stress that this is only DDoS here so no security breaches. We have never stored card data (and don't plan to) so nothing could be taken even if in the worst case scenario our server was ever compromised.

Increased number of visitors from Romania - coincidence or perhaps not...

Well part of my family are from Romania, hope it's not them.

Regardless of who is doing it, just curious of the purpose of the attack. I doubt you have been contacted for money or maybe is Scan or Cyberpower :)

This ^^

Most DDoS attackers work in conjunction with Malware/Viruses, they spread a piece of malware/virus to as many pc's as possible, this malware/virus is designed to be activated by a piece of software the hackers use, once the connection is made it then instructs each pc that is infected to transmit a DDoS attack to the desired server. This means you could potentially have thousands of PC's attacking a single server at the same time all controlled by one untraceable machine.

trouble is it easy and cheap to obtain a 10GB/sec attacking tool good news is coludflare is very good at blocking web site specific attacks ( I run game servers and we often get 15Gbs attacks)
