I hope we're all aware by now, but Windows 7 goes "End Of Life" on 14th January 2020. After this time, it will no longer recieve security updates.

There will be some of you thinking that so long as you have decent anti virus or a good firewall in place that you'll still be safe and be able to continue using it. BUT THIS ISN'T THE CASE.
Some misunderstand how "Zero Day" flaws in software affect the security of the system. A zero day flaw is where there is an inherent security hole that is open to attackers to gain access to your machine, through any firewall or AV package:

This is of paramount importance for anyone running an Intel CPU, as we know there have been multiple inherent flaws in the chips that have been patched by Microsoft and motherboard partners to mitigate (but not resolve) the flaw. Once windows is out of support, this will no longer happen. There have been rumours that new vulnerability patches do not work and already need addressing. And there are bound to be more found.
It is of utmost importance that anyone still on Windows 7 update NOW to Windows 10.
