1.Is the Dead Pixel guarantee worth it? Didn't buy it with my last machine from PCSpec, and it was fine. This one is a bit more expensive though so might be a good investment.

2.The Lan & Killer card. Is it worth the money? My router isn't the best one, and I think it only has 2.4ghz single band capability. The card can't do much with a simple router can it?

3.Would also love to hear what owners have to say about the screen. Backlight bleed complaints is putting me off just a little bit.

Cheers.

I have had the 17" version for about a month now and I could not be happier with it. The configuration is pretty much the same as yours, the only difference would be that I chose the ssd on the m2 pcie port. The screen is lovely and a lot better than on my old laptop. I have not experienced backlight bleeds so far. The laptop is quite heavy but I expected it when ordered a 17" screen. When I was reading reviews about this model, there were a few people saying the design is not very sturdy and that the lid can easily be bent. I find this to be the opposite and the whole device seems quite solid.
The only downside I can think of at the moment is that the laptop is a fingerprint magnet and if you are a bit obsessed with this like I am, you will have to wipe it daily. Other than that, I am quite happy with the purchase and do not think I could have got this much value for money elsewhere.

Is there any benefit to having the SSD in the M2 port?
My old laptop from PCSpec has screen flex as well but I don't see the issue with it. If you do try and bend it that way, it's only a thin laptop screen ^^
Also, did you go for the Deadpixel guarantee? Trying to find out if it's worth it. Finally, what wireless card did you get? Trying to decide if the Gigabit and killer is a good buy.

I was originally looking at the Proteus which was cheaper, but now it's no longer there I'm between the Optimus and the Defiance (Much better GPU). It's just that the Defiance is pushing my budget quite a bit.

I chose the ssd on the m2 port as it can develop faster speeds and also frees up an msata port. It is also lighter and reduces the weight by aprox 100g. I didn't go for the dead pixels guarantee but it is not a bad thing to have just in case.
I went for the Killer wifi card as it seemed more reliable from what I could gather from the reviews of this model but if you are not planning on upgrading your router in the future it is not really worth it. You could however get the next best one with 5gz capabilities just to be futureproof. From what I can understand, the killer one may be beneficial if you play games like Dota2 and need a steady and reliable connection at all times. I considered the Protheus too but didn't quite like the looks of it. The Defiance on the other hand looks very normal and does not stand out as a gaming machine. A friend of mine has the Optimus but I can safely say that my defiance looks and feels more premium althought it is a bit heavier.

Hey guys, here's some rec specs for one of the games I'm hoping to play in the future (Xcom 2). Does this spec meet the rec requirements?

Recommended:
OS: Windows® 7, 64-bit
Processor: 3GHz Quad Core
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: 2GB ATI Radeon HD 7970, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or better
Storage: 45 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

I did notice that it calls for a 3ghz Quad, so not sure.
