Defiance V RTX

I just got my gaming laptop and been using it for two weeks. It is a very good laptop for performance and can run most, if not all titles in max setting. This thing is solid. However like all things there are some major drawbacks. I have noticed that it does get pretty hot on the left side and power button. I have ordered a cooler and will let you know whether this makes a difference. I was told that it does not affect the longevity of the laptop so therefore I left it. In addition, the current fans in the system are very loud but with headphones you would not hear it. Overall, this product is pretty good when compared to larger companies such as Dell, HP, etc.. I enjoy working on this laptop very much.

*PROS*
- Very nice display
- Solid performance
- Very fast
- Not too heavy
- Good design of various modern ports
- Beautiful RGB keyboard

*CONS*
- Can get very hot.
- Display panel is bendy and quite fragile
- Keys are a bit mushy to a typical one.
- InBuilt Speakers very bad.

Looks good! I picked up a Defiance V 16" myself a few weeks back and also very pleased with it!

Regarding temperatures, there is always one or two spots in most laptops that get a bit toasty.. I found setting the fans to 'max' reduces this slightly, as does a slight 'undervolt' which is par for the course these days. Ultimately thought an 8750h/2070 produces a stupid amount of heat, and whilst the laptop is superb at expelling that out, the top left of the laptop is where the main exhaust is, so that seems to be the hot spot!

It is normal though, and component life should be fine, although I'd refrain from using the 'quiet' or 'entertainment' profiles for gaming, they reduce the fans but let the CPU/GPU get a bit hot for my tastes, to the point I would then be worried about longevity!

Let us know which cooler you get and how you get on with it, these are quite useful anyway as gaming laptops benefit from a bit more help!
