Hi!
Nice purchase!
I've purchased my first PC Specialist laptop few days ago.
I bought the Vyper III with similar specs, it's at early stages of manufacturing. Hope to get it soon.
And I saw you're a VR player! If I'm not wrong it's the Oculus Rift S in the pictures, right?
I've the same headset and I was looking like crazy for some infos about compatibility with this kind of laptops.
Did it worked out of the box?
Rift S is very picky with USB and Displayport.
Could you please tell me how was your experience installing and configuring it on the laptop?
My main concern is the compatibility as the Rift S requires a DisplayPort directly receiving the data signals from the dedicated GPU, and not from the Intel iGPU using Optimus to pass the signal from the Nvidia Card.

Is there an optionvin the bios to enable dedicated GPU only?
Thank you in advance for your help :)

Thanks, and good luck with the Vyper. I can't remember which other models I shortlisted, but I don't think that was among them, for $reasons.

Yep, Rift S, and it worked fine. It pushes the GPU hard (fans flat out) though.
With the headset on, and some distance away to fling around controllers, you don't notice.
Just remember to make sure the machine is set to performance mode as I found it doesn't throttle back the CPU, instead just throttling the fans and letting the thermal cut off deal with it!

No problem at all. Installed and ran without issue.
I'm not sure of the plumbing, but the Defiance happily drives the Rift S on mini DisplayPort, a 1080 TV on HDMI, and the built in display, all while running VR games, LIV (3D compositor) and StreamLabs.
I did need to tell Windows/NVidia to force LIV to use the NVidia GPU though.
Other than that, it tends to detect which to use automatically.

I have needed to play around with the audio settings constantly as audio will come out randomly from headphones, built in speakers, Rift S, connected TV, remote display, sometimes all the above in any combination.

Thank you in advance for your help :)
I hope this helps :)

Hi there @DeeHants , thank you for your review! Just looking at one of these myself, but with the RTX 2070 Max Q card.
Can you tell me what you meant by the "unsupported CPU" message, and what games you found were affected by it? Was there any pattern as to why they might have been?
Thank you so much..
Ju
