Deleting games (Steam)

What happens if you have a game you bought off Steam and the files are in My Documents. You delete the Local Content from Steam and then you delete the folder and its contents in My Documents.

You then re-download that game.

Would there be any problems updating the game/launching the game?

The reason I'm asking is because I did this and it wouldn't update the game. I got a 'disk read error'.

Update: It seems to have fixed itself since I turned the PC off

Oh Fishy, turning it off and on again should always be your first port of all
