Delighted with Destian

I ordered a high spec Fusion Studio 14" for use with a Linux O/S and was disappointed when the graphics driver was not able to driver an external monitor. I spoke with support and they arranged a no quibble refund which I put towards an even higher spec Destian Series 15.6". I chose the Destian with the help of Anthony O in the sales team who went over and above in researching what he felt would best suit me based on the discussions we had. The build and delivery process was even faster than on the Fusion Studio and when it arrived I was delighted. Far superior spec., performance, look and feel - better looking screen, better functionality all round, much better case, everything (however, it did cost almost 50% more than the Fusion Studio!) I have been running it for a couple of weeks now and am absolutely delighted. Thank you Anthony and PC Specialist team - I would recommend you to anyone.

It's good to know and to have a firsthand review because i'm advicing this laptop since 2/3 weeks and both my sisters will buy one :D

I'm very curious about this laptop and it's "desktop" CPU. I have so many questions :)
  1. What are the specs of your Destian?
  2. What distro did you install?
  3. Is the fan noisy?
  4. Are you able to completely power down the Nvidia GPU?
  5. Are the video output ports hardwired to the Nvidia GPU?
  6. Can you set the screen refresh rate to 60Hz or is it stuck on 240Hz?
  7. How long will it last on a fully charged battery (light use - terminal/browsing)?
  8. Do you know if Runtime D3 (RTD3) works on this laptop?
Any info would be really appreciated. Many thanks (in advance).

I am also looking to buy this machine, had somebody did some testing with ryzen 5900x
