Hi all, this is going to seem like a stupid question but as I am no good with computer parts or hardware I need to ask (sorry if this is in the wrong forum) could anyone possibly recommend to me good configurations for a desktop that is good at game and is also good at streaming, my budget is around £1300 so I hope this helps, any advice / recommendations would really help.

Thank You:)

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

What kinds of games do you play and what do you use to stream?

Well I’m not sure what monitor at the moment it’s an old AOC one I got with my last pc about 5 years ago which is now out-dated so not sure about all the specifics of it but I’m new to streaming so at the moment I’ve just got the standard elgato program to stream with. Sorry if this doesn’t help.

So can you give us the make and model of the monitor? Will be on the monitor itself... this affects what hardware you need.

To be honest with you I can accommodate a new monitor if I slightly higher the budget, this is because the monitor isn’t very good either it flickers and other things and sometimes just black screens so I should probably get a new monitor.

That's probably wise, I'm guessing it's 1080p 60Hz which is pretty useless by today's standards.

So what's your max budget for both PC and monitor?

You could get a 1440p 144hz gaming pc just about. If you've got a pc already which you have no intention of keeping then you could transfer over the windows 10 licence and save yourself a bit there.

This build leaves you just under £300 to buy a decent monitor. Of course you could make it more expensive if you have a flexible budget by getting a better case, a better PSU, a better motherboard and a windows licence. But there you go...

Have a look here for some monitor suggestions, prices have fluctuated a bit since this was posted, have a look for 1440p 144Hz Freesync screens at around £350:

Do you not have a windows license you can transfer? You can transfer windows 10 to any machine for free.
im not sure how to transfer it I’ve never done it before, I know I’m trying this into a quite tight budget for what it is but I just want the best I can get with what little I’ve got so if there is space where I can get better things let me know but at the same time I need a good monitor, this is why I’m shocking with actual computer hardware lol

Your budget is the limiting factor.

1080p gaming is dead except for very specific circumstances or extremely low budget.

For your budget 1440p 144Hz is doable and the above config perfectly allows for that.

Installing windows is just like installing any other program, it's rediculously easy and takes about 30 minutes. We can help if you have any difficulties, but transferring current windows means the difference between a 1080p system and a 1440p system.

That’s fair enough how does transferring windows work then because I have it currently on my pc at the moment (obviously) but I never actually knew you could transfer it and would you be able to put that config together again for me and add the monitor you suggest if possible. Sorry if I’m being a pain you’re really helpful so I thought I would get my questions out to you two. :)

I've just supplied the link to the monitors, you need to go through them yourself and see which one best suits you.

Personal preference I would go with the 275 Airflow and probably spend the extra money for the AX200 Wifi if you need wifi. The stock option is particularly slow.

With a decent 1440p monitor the above recommendations will be a fantastic system :)

This is the problem what you have said has just gone straight over my head when talking about airflow so if it’s still in my budget if you recommend I do it I will because I want a pc for gaming and streaming but I want it to last a couple years so, what would you suggest
