Device Disconnect/Connect sounds two or three times a day

Hi, I have a multi-drive video editing machine that is making the 'Device Disconnect' and then instantly the 'Device Connect' sounds randomly, two or three times a day. I am not disconnecting anything at the time, and it doesn't seem to interrupt my editing processes, other than by irritating me.

Is there some kind of event log that I can have open and see what is causing this when it happens?

Faulting connected device or driver error, unplugged all your external devices and then plug in one at a time until it starts again, work out which device is faulting then try it on another computer or in a different usb port etc

Yep. Looks like it was my recently acquired C-SATA adaptor for my Angelbird SSD that I use in my Atomos monitor recorder. I'm embarrassed to say that I'd left it dangling out of a front port and it had worked loose. I don't know why I didn't check all connected devices before posting here. Thanks for the advice and tools info, though.

There are a couple of tools that enumerate USB devices, I think the Nirsoft one shows you the date the device was added, the Microsoft one might too. They might help you figure out which one is the cause..?

I've made a note of them! I've heard of Nirsoft, but not for a long time, good to be reminded of it! Excellent Ubuysa! 👏👏👏
