Different Motherboards?

Hi all.

Firstly I dont know much about computers so might seem like a daft question.

Just wanted to know what is the difference between motherboards? Because on the PC building/config screen there are 5 to choose from.

The more expensive ones have better VRM heatsinks for overclocking, have more pci/pci-e slots for multiple graphics cards(and other devices) and allow faster data transfer rates.
