Distorted sound while playing music on my laptop ?

Ok let me cut to the chase, lately whenever I play music on my laptop I get distorted sound whenever there's activity on the hard drive (ie: A task simple as browsing the internet) However when the hard drive is idle, the music sounds fine with no skipping. but in rare cases it does skip a bit when its idle. even while typing this message it was distorting, i use itunes to listen to the music.

Why does it do that ?

ive seen something similar it was fixed by

I've installed a Ground Loop Isolater between the speaker photo sockets and the laptop audio cable - problem now seems to be solved. These can be picked up from electronics/audio stores fairly cheaply.

Thanks for the help, i hope that solves the problem, but im not sure if itll work though, cause im not using any external speakers, im using the laptop ones, it does distort when i use external headphones aswell. but im definitely gonna give this a go.

id try ring PCS on monday and see what they say the problem that guy had was similar but i dont belive he had issues with his onboard speakers, they might think its another issue.
