Hi all - i am in need of some advice / pointers on a new laptop build that i am thinking or purchasing. The laptop will be used for software development and personal use. So it will have a lot of programs/services/servers running at once - VmWare, Netbeans, Apache MySQL, Photoshop etc. Once running these programs/services will prob not be closed until i power-off...if that makes a differrence?

I also use the machine for personal use so some time i want to just boot and browse web or update itunes..

So.....do i go for HDD or SSD on the laptop? And what are the advantages and or disadvanatages of one over the other? I was looking at the xenon 14.1 chasis with a corei7 or corei5 - with 8GB RAM.

you can get a hybrid drive, best of both worlds. Almost as fast at the fraction of the cost - seagate do them :)
