This looks interesting, although it's EK so is gonna be pricey at 115 Euros roughly (around £130 on overclockers on pre order)
Benefits over a custom one, mainly is mounting in that this can be mounted to an existing 120mm fan mount. That's quite a big bonus for me, if I had a 3d printer, I may be more comfortable creating my own mod.

Connects via USB A 2 for power internally (alternative USB C for external display use)
CNC machined out of single chunk of 20mm thick aluminium at 195 x 115 x 20mm
Comes with all mounting screws and spacers.
The premium is going to be including the included software as this is designed specifically for custom loop monitoring and will have software built custom for that, and knowing EK it will be high quality.
But as this is just seen as a secondary display, you can still run whatever software you want as display output.
